Margin/Leverage helps you to trade in much larger positions than your capital. But you need to maintain a certain amount of capital to enjoy the leverage which varies with brokers, instruments, etc.
Example: Let's say you want to buy (BO/CO) 100 quantities of Ashok Leyland stock which is trading at 100 with a stop loss of 95 and the margin provided by a broker is 15.2x, you just need to have Rs. 660 in your account to buy shares worth Rs. 10,000.
